Quality Assurance Analyst

immediate need for a Quality Assurance Analyst who will be based at our
world headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
The Quality Assurance Analyst is accountable for writing test
specifications, designing, developing and performing tests for Syclo’s
software products. The Quality Assurance Analyst works in a team
environment, coordinating with software engineers, team leaders, and
other appropriate personnel to make certain that the software meets the
functional requirements with a goal of “zero defect” releases.
Responsibilities
- Test software in accordance with Syclo’s testing standards
(using the system test plan, identifying runs, etc) and as specified in
approved test cases
- Update the bug tracking database following Syclo’s standards
for bug reporting and testing
Follow Syclo’s quality assurance process as defined below:
- Participate in functional requirements reviews and provide
input as necessary
- Prepare test cases and present them to the quality assurance
team for approval
- Interface with other teams as appropriate
- Provide executed and signed test cases for each test that is
performed
- Provide accurate time estimates for tasks identified above
- Follow any policies or procedures provided by the organization
- Be an advocate for the end-user
- Accurately track and report ‘time on task’ as required
- Participate in team meetings
- Work effectively and cooperatively with other team members
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years experience in Software testing (including writing
feature test cases based on requirements, executing feature test-cases,
and regression testing)
- At least 2 years experience with SAP applications
- Must have a high comfort level with SQL Query Language
- Must have experience working in a team environment
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule in the final weeks
before a release
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirables
- Has some experience testing in a Client/Server environment
- Has some experience writing code
- Has some experience with test automation
- Has some experience working with a Requirements / Test
Management tool
- Has some experience working an a Unix environment
