Agentry Editor

Mobile Development Made Easy: Define Business Rules Once and Deploy on Multiple Mobile Devices

Define Once, Deploy Everywhere

The Agentry Editor allows developers to define their application once and deploy it to a broad range of mobile devices, including PDAs running Pocket PC, Blackberry or Windows CE, as well as laptops and tablet computers.  Using a Visual Screen Editor, developers can modify screen layout and improve the look and feel of the application using simple drag-and-drop functionality.

Defining an Application in the Agentry Editor

The Agentry Editor allows developers to rapidly create and maintain their mobile solution.  Developers begin by creating a business object model and defining the transactions that change the state of these business objects.  Multiple presentation views can then be created to support the various screen sizes on which the application will be deployed.  Application behavior is determined by definable action controls that enforce the application flow and business rules regardless of the presentation view being used.  Regardless of the screen sizes or devices used, the Agentry Editor only requires a single set of business rules be maintained, and support for additional screen sizes is quickly enabled without duplicating or redefining business logic. Finally, developers map the data access rules necessary to populate the business objects and to post transactions to the enterprise system(s) through the appropriate system connectors.

Access a Library of Commonly Used Configurations

Agentry's Import/Export/Compare feature further shortens the phases of application development with the ability to import pre-configured components to rapidly assemble new mobile functionality.  During mobile application development, developers can package and export unique configurations.  Developers can also selectively import configurations, compare prior configurations with new versions of the application, and quickly rollout an upgraded mobile product.

Additional Configuration Options from within the Agentry Editor

Aside from defining the Business Domain, Business Rules, Presentation, and System Connections you can also use the Editor to:

  • Define communication options and network hierarchy/priority
  • Define application styles and themes
  • Access and define system connectors
  • Set frequency of reference data synchronization
  • Localize or Internationalize your application
  • Synchronizing the device clock
  • Security Settings such as idle timeouts and lock out levels

Publishing your application to the Agentry Server

After defining the application in the Agentry Editor, developers publish it to the Agentry Server.  The Agentry Server contains application version control and is designed to push out new version updates directly to mobile devices deployed in the field – ensuring efficient application administration with minimum human support efforts.

Agentry Test Environment

The Agentry Test Environment is used to test and debug your application prior to deployment.  Running on a desktop computer, it provides object inspectors, logic debuggers, platform simulation, communication tracking and performance monitoring.
