Syclo Positioned in Gartner's 2011 Magic Quadrant for Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms

Syclo has been positioned as a Challenger on the Gartner Magic Quadrant that appears in the new Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms * (MEAP) report. In a separate Gartner research report on “Critical Capabilities for Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms” **, Syclo received the highest score of 3.7 for meeting each of the four mobile scenario cases required by developers and IT organizations.

About Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms (MEAP)

A mobile enterprise application platform is a framework that enables companies to effectively develop, test, deploy and manage multiple mobile solutions across their workforce. MEAPs address the difficulties of developing mobile software by managing the diversity of devices, networks and user groups at the time of deployment and throughout the mobile solution’s lifecycle. According to Gartner, “A key rule in choosing which category is best for a particular development purpose is the Rule of Three: If an organization is targeting three or more device platforms, if they have three or more applications, or if they have three or more back-end systems, then the multichannel or cross-platform tools typically yield better project results during the course of three to five years than native tools.”

As a result of the surge in adoption of smartphones and the proven value of mobilizing the workforce, the demand for MEAP technology is growing rapidly. According to Gartner, “During the past 18 months, this market has dramatically accelerated, both in terms of user requirements and the prominence of these mobile application projects among IT staff and the business units they service.”

About the Gartner Magic Quadrant

The Magic Quadrant is copyrighted 20 April 2011 by Gartner, Inc. and is reused with permission. The Magic Quadrant is a graphical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period. It depicts Gartner's analysis of how certain vendors measure against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner. Gartner does not endorse any vendor, product or service depicted in the Magic Quadrant, and does not advise technology users to select only those vendors placed in the "Leaders" quadrant. The Magic Quadrant is intended solely as a research tool, and is not meant to be a specific guide to action. Gartner disclaims all warranties, express or implied, with respect to this research, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

About Critical Capabilities

“Critical Capabilities” is a methodology that offers a comparative analysis of attributes of products in a class that differentiate them in terms of their quality and performance. The capabilities Gartner has selected do not represent all capabilities for any product and, therefore, may not represent those most important for a specific use situation or business objective. To determine an overall score for each product in a particular use case, the product ratings are multiplied by the weightings to arrive at the product score. The critical capabilities analysis should be used as one of several sources of input about a product before making an acquisition decision. Gartner does not endorse any vendor or product depicted in the Critical Capability. Gartner disclaims all warranties, express or implied, with respect to this research, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
