New Mobile Solution Leads to Streamlined Workflow, Increased Productivity and Greater Efficiency

Syclo and SHAKER Join Forces to Deliver Mobile Technician

Hoffman Estates, Ill. – March 13, 2007 – Syclo, a leading provider of mobile technology solutions, and Shaker Computer & Management Services, Inc. announce the successful completion of field testing for their new version of Mobile Technician software at a leading international facility and property management company.

Mobile Technician is a wireless application that provides field service personnel with timely access to critical visit, site, equipment and tasking data. The application allows workers to capture all work completed on the device and then transmits information about the visit to the back office for real-time status updates.

Mobile Technician is built using Syclo's Agentry™ development platform. Agentry shortens development times, lowers application maintenance costs and allows SHAKER to keep up with ever-changing mobile standards and technologies. For example, Agentry makes it possible for Mobile Technician to take advantage of a wide variety of wireless devices, including RFID, GPS and digital communications used for field testing.

Today's inexpensive devices, combined with the wider availability and lower cost of data communication plans, make Mobile Technician an affordable option for companies with field service operations. Mobile Technician reduces bottlenecks caused by inefficient communication between technicians in the field and critical back-office operations, problems that afflict many service organizations.

Syclo worked closely with SHAKER on the development of Mobile Technician. The facility and property management company has scheduled a wider rollout of Mobile Technician, which started in January 2007, to a group of its field service technicians with completion targeted for early 2008.

The facility and property management company contributed valuable workflow advice to the Mobile Technician project. Because that company already used COINS Ti™ from SHAKER, field testing demonstrated that Mobile Technician was able to streamline the dispatch process and integrate service visit data with its COINS Ti enterprise resource planning (ERP) system at a very granular level. Field technicians captured all details of the work they completed using Mobile Technician, resulting in quicker and more accurate billing. Technicians were able to provide real-time status updates, leading to better information to customers about work in progress. The paperless workflow contributed to increased productivity and more efficient processing of bills and payroll in the back office. Mobile Technician is available for COINS Ti users.
